After years as a trumpet player in various big bands and brass orchestras, Philipp became more and more involved with their sound systems and live mixing. This led to his profession in the audio world. After graduating as a sound engineer from Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in 2001 and after a short internship at Bauer Studios, he worked as a permanent member of the sound engineering team until 2022. Following his move to the Stuttgart State Opera, he is available as a sound engineer for selected productions.

His special passion: recordings of large formations. Whether in jazz or brass music, he feels very much at home. His work has received several awards.
