Johannes started his career after studying sound engineering in Berlin in 1979 at Zuckerfabrik in Stuttgart and has been a permanent team member of Bauer Studios since 1985.

He is one of Germany's most experienced sound engineers and has worked in a wide variety of genres throughout his career. His specialties include Cuban and Latin American music in addition to jazz.
